"Venial Sin on a Tortilla"

Jeff the chef returns: Nutella and Peanut Butter spread on a soft white Tortilla (you can buy all these supplies at your local Schnuck's supermarket for less than $7!). Just roll it up after you're finished spreading as much of each ingredient as you like, then enjoy!

In other news... the Priestie Boyz returned today from the Crossroads Music Festival, where they played with the likes of Danielle Rose, Dayspring, Cheerup Charlie and Friday Mourning, among others. It was an awesome festival, and pictures and information (and even a few songs...soon) are available on their website.

Feast of St. Pio of Pietrelcina; Leaving for Crossroads

Today is the feast day of St. Pio of Pietrelcina. St. Pio has been one of my most important inspirations for joining the Seminary, and I know he was a great help in intercessory prayer for my little sister, who was born three months premature! He was a devout priest, and had many troubles in his life, but he always offered his problems to the Lord and accepted his crosses (many though they were!) with a humble and obedient heart.

Here's a picture I drew of him in my journal recently:

KGB Soccer Team Starts with Win

Yesterday, the KGB Lions (the Seminary soccer team) won the first game of the CYC soccer season. We played very well (in my opinion) all game, and we finished with four goals (to the other team's one goal). It was awesome to be back on the soccer field for another game; I hadn't played at all over the summer, and I couldn't wait to get back on the field for a game! Thanks to the many fans we had on the field—it was awesome! (People actually cheered loudly when we scored.).

I don't yet know our schedule, so I hope I can make the rest of the games... but for now, it looks like we're off to a good start. I'll try to have someone take a few pictures so I can share them with those unable to attend the game.

Now, off to work on some homework...!

Gearing Up for "Talk Like a Pirate Day"

FYI: September 19 is the International 'Talk Like A Pirate Day'.

In addition to that, the Priestie Boyz are gearing up (like I said in my previous post) for Crossroads Music Festival, and I'll be tagging along. We just finished ordering T-Shirts for the event (they'll be awesome, and they'll be sold online as well!), and the band is going to start gearing up for recording after the show's over.

The soccer season starts Sunday, and I'm quite excited about that; also, we have now acquired new fish in our 2nd floor fishtank. They add quite a bit of liveliness to an otherwise dull area, and provide entertainment when I feel like taking a short break from my studies. Here's a picture of them:

Donations for Hurricane Relief

The people of New Orleans and the surrounding areas in Louisiana and Mississippi are in great need of help, not only in material goods, supplies and shelter, but especially money. Catholic Charities has set up a simple web page where you can donate money to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. They are currently accepting all the major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

Please pray for all the victims of this natural disaster. Pray that they may seek God and not despair because of the tragic events that have taken place. Please especially pray for two of my friends, who's lives have been directly impacted by this hurricane. If you have anyone you'd like me or others who read this blog to pray for, please post them in the comments of this posting.
