De Smet 48, Hazelwood Central 31 in State Championship Game

Kudos to the De Smet Spartans, who won the Missouri state football championship game last night, with a final score of 48 to Hazelwood Central's 31. It was a well-fought battle, and both teams played very well. Hazelwood never gave up, and gave quite a scare at the beginning of the fourth quarter! I'm also glad that both teams' fans and coaching staff were good sports, not booing too much, but ensuring a lively and exciting game.

School begins again on Monday, and the semester ends soon; I am reminded that the annual Seminary Novena will be fast approaching—more details to follow.

iTunes Music Store Beats B&N and Sam Goody in Music Sales

I read an interesting bit of news today: "iTunes Music Store Cracks Top 10 List of Leading U.S. Music Retailers in Q3 2005". Some obvious facts that this story highlights: iTMS is #1 in online music download sales, iTMS is here to stay (good for those of us who have purchased more than a couple songs!), and online music downloads are gaining momentum. I wonder when video downloads will actually catch on—I predict it will take at least five years before people en masse adopt video content downloads...

In other news, the KGB Lions Soccer team played an awesome game against arguably the best team in the CYC league, and held them to a score of 2-3 (we lost, but we aren't ashamed at all!). We will have one more game this year, and it will probably be in two weeks. Stay posted for more info.

Priestie Boyz Concert a Success!

Tonight (a few hours ago), the Priestie Boyz won first place in SLU's 'Canapalooza' talent show! It was a great event, and many of our tried-and-trusted fans showed up to support us. We would like to thank all those who were present, and I'll be posting some video and pictures from the event when I get a spare moment.

Priestie Boyz Live in Concert Again!

Next Monday (November 14), at Salsarita's in the Busch Student Center at St. Louis University, the Priestie Boyz will be playing during the 'Canapalooza;' a talent show of sorts. Come and vote for your favorite act (which will be the Priestie Boyz, of course!) by donating canned goods or money during our performance! Canapalooza begins at 8:00 p.m., and continues until all the groups are finished.

All Saints Gaud Pictures; KGB Soccer Victory!

Yesterday the KGB Lions soccer team had a 'fine team victory,' defeating the other team 3-2 in a well-fought game. There are only a few more games left this season, so if you haven't yet attended, make sure to come by at 1 p.m. on one of the next Sundays! Our Open House is coming up next Sunday, from 1-4 p.m.; perhaps you could drop by for a quick tour, then see the soccer game...

In other news, I've posted pictures from the Seminary's All Saints Gaud (I think the St. Jude costume should be the winner...).

2005 Convivium Dinner Auction; Other Notes

I'm sorry it's been so long since my last posting; I have been quite busy around the Seminary during the past couple of weeks!

Tonight the Seminary held its annual dinner auction (named 'Convivium'), and it was quite an experience! I would like to thank all the wonderful sponsors, donors and attendees, as well as the Seminarians and volunteers who helped make the dinner auction a successful endeavor.

I hope to post some pictures I took during last week's All Saints' Gaud within a day or two... but that might have to wait. KGB Soccer hasn't been doing too well lately (our record is 1-1-4 now), but we are entering the home stretch in our season, and we should come out with a win or two more. We play against the only team we've beaten tomorrow at 1, but we'll be missing a few players (due to injuries).
