Cool thing about this puppy...it was originally a monument to the Dacian Campaign of Trajan, and as you ascended the stairs around the column in a spiral, you could see the murals on the column showing the images of the war. Then, Pope Sixtus V replaced the statue of Trajan with St. Peter. Take that, pagans!
